Leslie and Jacob

How They Met:
Back in 2017, Leslie was living in Virginia and texting her best friend, who lived in Utah. Her friend had moved to Utah to support her sobriety, which is how she knew Jacob. One night, Jacob happened to look over and noticed Leslie’s photo on her friend’s phone. Curious, he asked who she was, and Leslie’s friend let her know he was interested. Leslie playfully replied that Jacob would have to send a photo before she’d give him her number. When she saw his picture, she liked what she saw and shared her number! They quickly became best friends, talking on the phone almost every day. In 2018, Leslie moved to Utah for her own sobriety, and she and Jacob spent all their free time together as “best friends” until March 2019, when they shared their first kiss. The rest is history!

The Engagement Story:
Though they had planned to get engaged, Jacob wanted the proposal to be a surprise. One evening, Leslie came home from work to find Indian takeout laid out on the dining table along with a bouquet of roses. As she stepped through the door, Jacob stopped her, got down on one knee, and handed her a beautiful ring. Leslie was struck by how stunning the ring was until she realized Jacob hadn’t actually asked her anything. Laughing, she prompted, “Aren’t you going to ask me?” Jacob quickly followed up, saying, “Oh, yeah! Will you marry me?”
